Flowers with interesting centres, the dark reflective splotches on oriental poppies and the beautiful stamens in anemones and paeonies are what particularly appeal - not so much the simplified sculptural forms of Georgia O'Keefe - and of course the glorious singing or subtle colours and the sheer aliveness of flowers.
Obervational work leads into more abstracted pieces.
Sketches and paintings are in watercolour, oil, coloured pencils and mixed media and are done both plein air and in the studio. In the past, these have been developed into a series of large oil paintings on canvas, looking at the beautiful colours and shapes and the movement of the petals in the wind.
